Life is a song. Our elders have long realised how true this is – one’s experiences constitute the lyrics; one’s moods define the melody.
Fu Hui Choir, a cultural group of our affiliate Fu Hui Buddhist Cultural Centre, visited Grace Lodge to conduct a singing session. This singing session is conducted weekly to provide vocal training for our elderly and prepare them for stage performances during our annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. The singing sessions provide Ah Gongs and Ah Mahs with opportunities for self-expression, amidst great joy, hearty laughter and fond reminiscence.
Living in a nursing home isn’t about waiting for the end of life or merely receiving care – our elderly residents continue to live with eager anticipation and with purpose! It’s not about counting the days left, but making each day count!
