BRINGING NDP 2019 TO GRACE LODGE SENIORS (03/08/2019)
450 participants, comprising elderly seniors, family members and staff of Grace Lodge nursing home, children and parents of both Grace Child Development Centre (GCDC) and Hearty Care Centre (HCC), as well as volunteers from ACE Seniors, Cheng Xin ShipManagement Pte Ltd and Fu Hui Youth, celebrated National Day 2019 at Fu Hui Link community hub.
This was our third year of partnership with ACE Seniors, to bring the cheer of National Day to Grace Lodge seniors. Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, graced the event as our Guest-of-Honour, with Mr. Ng Chee Meng, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, as our Special Guest.
With the theme “Reliving Memories…Reliving dreams…Me and My Singapore” for the celebration, we reminisced the good old times while at the same time, aspire for greater progress of our nation.
Grace Lodge seniors took a journey down memory lane, in remembrance of the pioneers who had contributed to Singapore’s transformation over the past years. They also enjoyed a floats parade “Iconic Buildings of Singapore”, which involved intergenerational engagement with the children of GCDC and HCC.
The programme highlights included an impersonation show put up by GCDC and HCC children, dance performances by Grace Lodge staff and “Taekwondo Kids” performance by GCDC children. Last but not least, all enjoyed food and games at the carnival run by volunteers of Ace Seniors, GCDC staff and Fu Hui Youth members.
